    To place an order on this site, You will first need to create an account, then simply put in your shopping cart the items you wish to purchase. Once you are done, you can proceed to check out, and check the required details (please be sure to check your shipping address!). You can then choose your shipping method, then your payment method, as detailed below.

  • Tips for speedy order processing and delivery.
    We can usually ship orders in less than 24 hours. The best time to place orders would be before midnight GMT, as we start processing orders around that time.

    Large orders (20 discs or more) will often be split into separate shipments which will be shipped on consecutive days. Our site has a built-in discount system for orders over 50 discs, but we recommend you to get in touch with our Wholesale department for a deal more adapted to your needs.

    Please make sure to double check your shipping address, especially UK postal codes, when checking out. Although, if you made a mistake, you can pause your order and request changes to be made. We will not be held responsible if your order does not reach you because of an invalid address.

  • What are Quick Picks/Saved Orders?
    Quick picks and saved orders are a feature that allow you to save up to 20 different shopping carts, in case you want to repeat an order, or save it for later. You can also load past orders, if you wish to place them again.

  • What should I know about paying by credit card?
    There's a few things to keep in mind if you choose to make payment by credit card when you check out. Please read all these and understand them.

    1) The credit card facility is kindly provided to us through a friend's site. Any questions regarding your payment should come to us, nobody else. When you check out, you will be taken to another site, the amount to send in Thai Baht will be already filled in, just press the "Buy Now" button to be taken to the payment site.

    2) When you are on the credit card payment site, it may initially be displayed in Thai. You can change the language by clicking the British flag in the top right corner of the page.
    Then, enter your credit card details and other required details. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH PAYSBUY, THIS IS FOR THAILAND RESIDENTS ONLY.

    3) Please do not enter anything in the "notes" box. We have all the information we need about you through this site, there is no need to add anything else. Just enter your credit card details as requested.

    4) IMPORTANT! Because the payment gateway is located in Thailand, it is possible that their server will be slow to European or American customers. There is a chance your credit card will be charged, payment will be made to us, but your order will not be registered on the site. We will regularly check our transfer details to find such problems, and the money we receive will be credited to your account balance within 24 hours if there is no associated order. If after 24 hours you have not received a credit from us, or a "payment confirmed" email, please let us know, and we will look into it.

  • How does the Account Balance system work?
    When you have an account on this site, it has the ability to hold a balance that can be used with your future orders. We use this balance for any refunds or credits, and you can also pre-load it, so as to make the processing of your order faster.

    Depending on the amount of money in your balance, the following two things can happen:
    More money in your balance than your order's total, or exactly the right amount. For example, you have $100 in your balance, but your order comes up to $50. The total for your order will be deducted from your account balance, you will see an option to "pay from account balance" when you check out. After the order is placed, you will be left with the remainder in your balance (hence $50 as of our example).
    Less money in your balance than your order's total. For example, you have $50 in your account, but your order comes up to $100. In this case, the amount in your balance will be deducted from what you have to pay (hence, you will have to pay only $50 in our example). Payment of the remainder is done by either Moneybookers.com, or Western Union.

  • Do you ship the plastic cases?
    In order to save weight we ship only the discs and the printed covers. Plastic cases really cost too much to ship compared to their price, and you can probably find them near you at a good price. The proper name for these cases are Amaray cases.

    Please note also that TV series and other multiple-disc sets are shipped WITHOUT any outer decorative box, just individual discs and covers.

  • What is the difference between normal, Deluxe, TDSS, QuickPlay and DVD-R titles?

  • BD-QuickPlay Sub-FAQ
    BD-QuickPlay movies are movies in high definition, on DVD discs. In order to do this, Blu-Ray encoding technology is used, so you will need a Blu-Ray player to watch them. This can be a standalone player, Playstation 3 console, or a PC equipped with a Blu-Ray drive and compatible software.
    IMPORTANT! Your Blu-Ray player must be compatible with the AVCHD format or our discs will not play. Recommended are Sony, Samsung, Pioneer or Panasonic players. If you are not sure you player is compatible, please contact us so we can check.

    In order to maintain video quality, all menus and special features are removed. But, depending on the title, extra audio and subtitle options may be available. You will need to select those through your player's remote control.

    BD-QuickPlay movies are supplied with covers designed for Blu-Ray cases, which you can get from online retailers such as www.svp.co.uk

    If your player or console is having problems to play the movie, please update it to the latest firmware. You can get this from the manufacturer website.

  • Blu-ray Sub-FAQ
    ThaiDVD is proud to offer a brand new range of these next generation products. Blu-ray movies are splendid Hi-Def movies on special high capacity discs. They bring an unsurpassed video and audio quality for the true home theater experience.

    Important: These Blu-ray titles should be compatible with all available players. But, because the format is still so new, there are many differences in specifications between manufacturers so we cannot guarantee they will all work properly. We recommend Sony (including PS3) players. If you own a player of a different brand, we advise you to purchase a single movie first to test it. If it does not work, we will be happy to refund you if you wish to return it to us.

    Blu-ray players that are NOT recommended: Samsung HTBD-2, LG BD370. These have known issues playing our movies.

  • How do I play the Wii/Xbox360 games?
    For the Wii, because the games is from a different region you need a modchip to play. In the UK we recommend www.slimtool.co.uk with good prices and installation service to make things easier.

    For the Xbox360, you need to have a modified firmware. There are many guides for this on the internet but we recommend finding someone locally who can do it for you and install ixtreme firmware 1.0 to 1.2 rev.c. or newer

    We will not be held responsible if your console becomes non-functional due to improper modification.

  • What languages are the movies available?
    All our movies come with a sound track in their original language (so, English in the case of American/British movies, French for French movies, etc), as well as Thai, and sometimes French or Spanish.
    Optional English subtitles are always available, as well as Thai, Chinese, and sometimes other languages such as Korean, French or Spanish. You can see more information of the available languages by clicking on the icon of the movie.

  • Can I buy these and resell them?
    This site exists for the purpose of selling movies to customers around the world, for the main purpose of importing them for personal use. They are not recommended to be re-sold outside of South-East Asia, but as we understand that this is a tremendous business opportunity, we are ready to work with you if you wish to resell.
    We can offer two ways to help:

    Dropship service
    This is by far the easiest way, you sell our products in whichever way you want (your own site, online auction sites, etc), then get in touch with our Dropship department who will place the order for you, to be shipped to your customer, and bill you a special discounted price.

    Wholesale service
    This is for when you wish to stock movies yourself, we can offer much better discounts based on order quantity and frequency.

  • How can I know which new movies are avaiable?
    The simplest way is to subscribe to our newsletter. This newsletter is sent whenever we add new titles, which is usually on a daily basis.

    What we recommend is to use our RSS feed. There are many programs now that can access this information, and you will be informed as soon as we add a new movie!

  • How should I write a movie review?
    Just be honest about how you enjoyed (or hated) the movie, and share your opinion of what you thought were the best (and/or worst) parts of the movie. Don't forget to rate the movie from 1 to 5, too!

  • I placed an order a long time ago, but still haven't received anything!
    First please check the status of your order here (you must be logged in). If it says "Awaiting Payment", then we have not received payment for this order yet. Please check your Moneybookers or YowCow account in case something has prevented payment from going through. If it has, let us know, it is possible that we missed it as we have to manually check payments. This also means that there is often a time gap between your payment being confirmed and your order or account modified accordingly.

    If the status of your order is "Processing", this means it is currently being assembled.

    "Packing" and "Packing - Label OK" mean that the order is complete and has been sent to be packed. Please keep in mind that large orders (25 discs or more) will take us a longer time to process, both because they are a bigger stress on our stock, and because they need longer to pack.

    If the status of the order is "Shipped", please check the shipping date we provided. Shipment is usually 7-14 days for Registered Airmail, or 4-8 days for EMS, but they have been known to take longer some times. At any rate, let us know if an order has not shown up after 30 shipping days. Please also remember that EMS shipping offers the advantage of online tracking of the package, so chances of a lost package are much lower.

  • Can you get *insert movie just released in the cinemas* yet?
    We don't usually know in advance when they will be available on DVD, but it usually takes a minimum of two months after theatrical release. If you don't see it on this site, we probably can't get it.

    When we have a good estimate of the availability of a title, it will be shown in our "Coming Soon" section, and you can express your interest in ordering it by adding it to your wishlist.

  • How long will it take until I receive my order?
    We have all titles in stock, so it usually takes less than 24 hours to process and ship your order after your payment is confirmed. In the unlikely event a title is out of stock, we will need to wait for it to be re-stocked, which can take a couple of days, and in case we cannot restock it, we will credit the cost of the missing title(s) to your account. Shipping time will depend on the shipping method, please view the shipping and returns section for more information.

  • My DVD player cannot play your movie/The movie plays fine for an hour then stops.
    We are afraid these kinds of defects can happen, the quality control at the manufacture of these discs is not always very good. We try to test the discs as much as possible, but some defective ones still sneak through. Keep in mind also that some DVD players are more sensitive than others, so it is possible another player might play these discs fine. If you have another player handy (computer DVD drives, as well as Playstation 2 or X-Box consoles are among the most tolerant players around), please test them on there, and let us know the results.

  • The movie plays in Black and White! (usually applies to UK/EU customers)
    The majority of our movies are encoded in NTSC format, and the standard format in the UK and Europe is PAL. Most DVD players do the conversion automatically (except Playstation 2 consoles), and most decent recent (less than 5 years old) TVs are PAL/NTSC compatible, though you may need to find a button or setting somewhere to switch the system manually. The user's manual is the best place to find this.

  • I heard you guys reply to emails fast, why is it taking so long to get back to me?
    We usually reply emails within a few hours, but please remember the time zone difference, we are on the other side of the world to most people. So, sometimes, we get a lot of e-mails or orders in the middle of the night, and can only reply to them the next morning. Thank you for your patience, we will get back to you.
